As the school year is just about over for everyone - (which means the official start of Gator Season!!), we congratulate all the Gators on another school year done! Congratulations to all of our graduates!!

Swimtopia - I refer to Swimtopia in most of my emails.  This is where our swim team website resides.  If you are able to download the free Swimtopia app on your phone, it's helpful to access the website, including schedule, volunteer and sign-out areas.  Otherwise, go to:  https://glenridgeswimclub.swimtopia.com/

Practice

All going well so far! It is great to see a lot of new faces!! As a reminder, I will send an email through Swimtopia about cancelling practice or meets due to weather. The info will also be on the Swimtopia GR home page under Inclement Weather.

We have practice for the rest of this week as follows:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 4 - 4:45pm (11/Under); 4:45 - 6pm (12/Over)

Friday, 6/21: Practice times move to our summer schedule below:

11 and Under:

• Monday, Thursday: 5:30pm-6:30pm
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 11am – 12pm

12 and Over:

• Monday, Thursday: 6:00pm-7:30pm
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10am – 11:30am

Just a few reminders about practice: Please, no parents/siblings on pool deck during practice. All parents/siblings need to watch practice from inside the clubhouse or patio area during practice as this allows all swimmers to focus their attention on the coaches. In addition, coaches are not allowed to open the snack shack outside of normal pool hours.

First Meet this Saturday

Saturday, 6/22: Saturday is our first meet. Currently, only Louie, Jackson, Lella and Julia are signed out of this meet. If you are not attending the meet on Saturday, please email/text me or sign out on Swimtopia by tomorrow (directions below). This is important to know who is attending so the coaches can complete the line up. If you have any questions regarding the meet, please reach out to me or the coaches. The meet will be at Glen Ridge Swim Club. I will be opening the club at 8am for setup. Please arrive anytime between 8:00 - 8:30am.  Parking will be easier the earlier you come.  If the lot fills up, you can park on Glen Ridge Dr. next to the club. Warm ups will be at 8:45am and the meet will start around 9:15am.

Swimtopia Swim Meet Signout

You can sign out of a meet on the Swim Team website (Swimtopia). Please sign out of a meet a minimum of 3 days prior to the meet. All of the meets currently have the sign-out option enabled, so please sign out of all meets you will be missing now. This helps the coaches in planning meet line-ups. Here are the directions:

• Go to the swim meet schedule for the meet that will be missed.
• Click on the green "Meet Entry" button next to the applicable meet.
• Click the green Edit button.
• Choose "Not Attending This Meet" in the drop down list.
• Click the green save button.

There is no need to sign-in to a meet or say you will be “attending”. However, you can use this feature if you would like to leave the coaches a note for the meet, such as the swimmer is leaving early, etc.

Registration Payment

Please have all registration payment in by this FRIDAY JUNE 21st. You can leave in large envelope on swim team bulletin board, give to me directly or venmo me at @pjrossi17. Thank you!

Swim Suit and Swim Caps

We are having some issues with getting certain sizes in our swimsuit this year, the TYR Fizzy in Blue/Green. If you need a swimsuit, you can call Ultimate Swim Shop at 732-549-1001 to see if they have the size. Alternatively, you can search online (swimoutlet.com has some sizes). If you cannot find the suit in the Blue/Green color, you can also wear the Tyr Fizzy in Green. Any black or green suit is acceptable as well. We will have a different suit next year, so we will not have these size issues.

I have Latex swim caps for sale at 2 caps for $15. I’m working on getting silicone caps, but we won’t have them for the first few meets.

Finally - New swimmers and families - we love to wear our green at all home meets so please join in the fun! Good luck and have FUN to all our new swimmers and everyone!!
